Our Story
Founded in 1968 by Mr. A.J. (Peter) Swane in the small Macquarie Valley town of Warren, our journey began with little more than energy, vision, and a passion for machinery. Starting as a local machinery dealer, Peter Swane quickly expanded operations to Dubbo, opening for business there on 1st July 1970, and servicing the wider region.
A major milestone came in November 1975, when Peter Swane Machinery was appointed as a Kenworth dealer. From that point forward, trucks became the heart of the business. By the early 1980s, the company had fully transitioned from machinery to transport, sharpening its focus on the trucking industry.
Over the years, the company held several truck franchises, but in 1993, under the leadership of Cliff Swane as Managing Director, the business embraced a strong dedication to PACCAR products, including Kenworth, DAF, and Cummins.
In 2001, the company expanded into the Riverina region of NSW, acquiring Riverina Truck Centre in Wagga Wagga and Rivken Truck & Trailer Parts in Griffith. This strategic move solidified our presence across inland New South Wales and marked a new chapter with a name change to Inland Truck Centres Pty Ltd — a name that better reflected our core identity and regional commitment.
Further growth came in 2016, with the opening of our Orange branch, bringing parts and service closer to customers in the Central West.
In 2023, Cliff Swane retired, and RDO Australia Group acquired Inland Truck Centres. Both family-built businesses share a deep commitment to innovation, industry advocacy, and customer support. The familiar Inland Truck Centres name and team remain at all locations, now backed by the resources and reach of the RDO Equipment network.
Most recently, in 2025, Inland Truck Centres expanded again with the opening of a new TRP retail store in Parkes, NSW, specializing in high-quality truck spare parts and accessories — continuing our mission to support regional transport operators with trusted products and exceptional service.
