PACCAR to introduce new automated transmission
Global equipment manufacturer, PACCAR, has announced it will introduce a new lighter-weight heavy-duty automated transmission for on-highway commercial vehicles.
The PACCAR automated transmission is reportedly designed for line-haul applications up to 49,895kg Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) and is available for engine ratings up to 510hp, featuring integrated electronic communications with PACCAR MX engines.
“The PACCAR automated transmission is engineered to work seamlessly with PACCAR MX engines and PACCAR axles and provide industry-leading performance,” said PACCAR Vice President, Landon Sproull.
“Together, PACCAR Powertrain components deliver superior fuel economy, uptime, and driver satisfaction – top priorities for our customers.”
The PACCAR transmission is reportedly designed to complement PACCAR MX engines and PACCAR axles with Kenworth and Peterbilt to begin offering the PACCAR automated transmission to North American customers in October 2017.
